How to Download Twitter/X Videos on Android

Download and find the MP4 on Android

   Copy the public post link

   In the X app, open the post, tap Share, and choose Copy link. Use the complete post URL, not a profile page, search page, caption, or direct media URL.

   Paste the copied URL into the tool on this page. DownXVideo accepts supported x.com and twitter.com public post URLs and does not need your X login.

   Find the available MP4 options

   Select Find MP4 options. If the post exposes supported media, the page lists each video and the resolutions provided by the source.

   Choose a quality and download

   Choose Download when a same-site download is offered. If the action is Open MP4, the source video may open in a browser tab; use the browser download control or a long-press save action when available.

   Open Chrome Downloads or Files

   In Chrome, open the menu and choose Downloads. You can also open the Android Files app and look in Downloads or Recent files. The exact folder name and file-manager layout can differ by device.

   Organize the video if your gallery does not show it

   First confirm that the MP4 opens in Files. If you want it in another folder, use the file manager’s Move to or Copy to action. Gallery and photo apps decide which device folders they display, so appearance may not be immediate or identical on every phone.

Find the downloaded MP4 in Chrome or Files

Chrome saves a completed file to the device’s default download location. Open Chrome’s menu and choose Downloads to see recent browser downloads. You can also open your device’s Files app and check Downloads or Recent files.

Google’s current Chrome help recommends the Files app for finding files downloaded to an Android device. Phone makers can change the file-manager name and layout, so use the browser’s download entry first if you cannot find the folder.

If the video opens instead of downloading

A result labeled Open MP4 points to the source file. This is the normal fallback when a same-site proxy download is not eligible—for example, when a file is over 500 MiB, its size is unknown, or the proxy is unavailable.

1. Check the video player for a download control.
2. Open the browser menu and look for its download action.
3. Return to the result and long-press the MP4 link if your browser offers Download link.
4. After the action starts, check Chrome > Downloads before submitting the post again.

Browser labels differ. The important distinction is that the MP4 is already available; the remaining step is saving the source file with your browser.

If the MP4 is missing from Gallery or Google Photos

First open the file in Files. If it plays there, the download completed. Gallery apps decide which folders they show and when they index new files, so a browser download does not always appear immediately in the same view as camera videos.

If you want to reorganize the file, use the file manager’s Move to or Copy to action and choose a media folder you recognize. Files by Google documents these actions, but manufacturer file managers may use different labels. This guide does not claim a Samsung-specific or other manufacturer-specific path that was not separately tested.

Choose quality without assuming a resolution exists

DownXVideo lists the MP4 variants returned for the public post. A label such as 720p or 1080p appears only when the source supplies that option. The tool does not upscale video or manufacture 4K output.

Higher resolution often means a larger file, but the exact size is shown only when it can be measured or estimated. If a size is unknown, choose based on the listed resolution and keep enough device storage available.

Common Android failures

• Invalid link: copy the complete post URL from X rather than a profile, caption, or search page.
• No supported media: confirm that the public post contains a supported video rather than only images or an external player.
• Private or unavailable: the tool cannot use your X login or cookies to reach it.
• Temporary source error: wait and retry the original post later instead of refreshing repeatedly.
• Old result: parse the post again because media and signed download links can expire.
